How to Prevent Razor Bumps

This article will help answer the questions: What are those red bumps left after shaving and how to prevent and treat the ingrown hairs that cause these shave bumps?

Razor Bumps are also known as barber's rash or shave bumps and the medical name for this ingrown hair problem is pseudofolliculitis barbae.

Normally the typical hair growth pattern for a hair follicle is to grow out of the skin. But an ingrown hair follicle grows into the skin and stays underneath the skin as it continues to grow. Your skin then considers this as a “foreign invader” and attempts to heal itself, causing the hair to be “trapped” under the surface of the skin creating a “shave bump”.

When shaving, you may have to shave over bumps, which is very painful causing irritation worsening the Shave Bumps that already exists.

The Active agents in eWize Razor Bump Shave Cream help to reduce the vicious cycle of the shave bump, helping your skin to heal and become free of shave bumps and ingrown hairs.

Tips on How to Get a Close Shave with No Razor Bumps:

1. Pre-trim areas that have longer hair that you would like to shave. This will be easier for
you, your drain, and your razor too!
2. Wash your face with warm water then dampen a washcloth with warm water and hold
on the areas that you would like to shave for 1 - 2 minutes. This will help to soften the hair
follicle and help the hair follicle to break free of the skin while shaving and open the pores of
your skin.
3. If you shave while you are in the shower, invest in an inexpensive fog-free shave mirror
(available at most stores). Leave the shaving for very last, this will help to soften the hair
and skin giving you a fantastic shave.
4. Apply eWize™ Razor Bump Shave Cream and gently massage in the areas that you would
like to shave. Make sure there is enough eWize™ Shave Cream to create a light layer on your
skin.
5. Use a sharp razor blade. Dull razor blades will not provide a close, comfortable shave.
6. Shave in the direction that your hair grows. Gentle pressure is all that is needed while shaving.
Do not shave in the opposite direction of hair growth. Contrary to what you may have
heard, this does not provide a "close shave" only an irritated, bump potential shave.
This method of shaving will also help to promote hair growth out of the skin, instead
of growing underneath the skin, Also do not "go over" spots repeatedly. You may
re-shave an area but excessive "going over" will only result in irritation and bleeding.
7. Rinse face thoroughly and pat dry gently with a towel.

& heal razor bumps and ingrown hairs and achieve smooth shaved legs:

1. Pre-trim areas that have longer hair that you would like to shave. This will be
easier for you, your razor and your drain too.
2. If you shave while you are in the shower leave the shaving for very last, this will
help soften your hair and your skin so that you can get a more comfortable, closer
shave.
3. Apply eWize™ Razor Bump Shave Cream and gently apply in the areas that you would
like to shave. Make sure there is enough eWize™ Razor Bump Shave Cream to create a
light layer on your skin.
4. Use a sharp razor blade. Dull razors will not give you a close, comfortable shave.
5. Shave in the direction that your hair grows. Gentle pressure is all that is needed while
shaving. Do not shave in the opposite direction of hair growth. Contrary to what you
may have heard, this does not provide a "close shave" only an irritated, bump potential
shave. This method of shaving will also help to promote hair growth out of the skin,
instead of growing underneath the skin. Also do not "go over" spots repeatedly. You may
re-shave an area but excessive "going over" will only result in irritation and bleeding.
6. Rinse are thoroughly and pat dry gently with a towel.
7. Note Ladies: Time shaving around your period - Some women experience more sensitivity
during that time of the month, If shaving becomes more uncomfortable during period time,
shave before and then after, but not during your period.
